Very few studies have been conducted to determine which houseplants are toxic to birds, so all plants that contain known toxic chemicals have been excluded from the Safe Plant List.  Tree branches make the best perches.  Listed are some safe branches, foliage and bark to be used as perches chew toys for birds.

Sage Tree Branches for Toys and Perches
These materials are not safe if toxic chemicals or insecticides have been sprayed on them.  Before installing them in any cage, scrub all branches with a non-toxic disinfectant (diluted chlorine bleach or Nolvasan 1:10), then rinse and dry well.
